Upon Arrival

  • Unpack Immediately

    • Remove flowers from their shipping boxes ASAP
    • Inspect all stems upon arrival. It’s normal for flowers to appear slightly thirsty, soft or compressed after transit--Most flowers revive after proper hydration.
  • Prepare Clean Buckets

    • Fill clean buckets with fresh, cool water PRO TIP: Smaller, delicate varietys need a vase of their own!
    • Dirty containers can introduce bacteria that shorten vase life
  • Remove Packaging

    • Carefully remove sleeves, rubber bands, and protective wrapping
    • Avoid forcing blooms open or pulling petals apart
  • Recut Stems

    • Using sharp floral clippers or floral knife, remove approximately 1-2 inches from the bottom of each stem but snipping at a 45 degree angle
    • This opens fresh vascular tissue and improves water uptake
  • Hydrate

    • Place flowers immediately into water and allow them to hydrate for several hours
    • For best results, allow flowers to rest overnight in a cool location before designing
  • Store Safely

    • Cool room temperatures between 35-40° F when possible
    • Away from direct sunlight
    • Away from heating vents and fans
    • Away from ripening produce (fruits and vegetables)
    • Avoid hot cars, drafty doorways, direct sunlight and freezing temperatures!
